Turning an Acorn into an Oak Tree explores what it takes to develop community programs and organizations from a grassroots level. Participants will receive guidance on how to begin the process, including strategic planing, goal setting, and implmentation.

How to motivate youth to set realistic goals and achieve them

Uprooting the Project Mentality will provide educators, parents, and community leaders with important tools to motivate youth, with emphasis on at-risk communities. Youth will engage in a series of exercises designed to assist them in developing attainable goals and beginning the first step in achieving them. 

Word Power

Increasing comprehension through creative expression

Word Power utilizes poetry, creative writing, storytelling, and other forms of creative expression to engage youth and geth them motivated to not only read, but also effectivelly comprehend what they're reading. During the workshop youth will learn the importance of effective communication, be given examples of how it's done, and enjoy interactive activities to that teach unforgettable lessons.
